Hija: “I really wanna know how that connection works but I could screw up the whole not being shot at arrangement Tag’s manage to put together.” QU37Z41C0471: “Curiosity is a good impetus to learning though there are often boundaries to keep you safe.” Hija: “I’m not good at boundaries...” QU37Z41C0471: “I am aware, but this is not someone nobodies account that will get a response from GOD in a couple of weeks nor fan work of Gold Stars: Supernatural Detectives.” Hija: “All the Gold Stars stuff has those warnings but that’s because it was about investigating murders and ghost stuff and showed blood and guts for like a few seconds. I didn’t know it was gonna show them doing that.” QU37Z41C0471: “The point stands, there are boundaries and consequences for crossing them. I won’t tell you not to cross but you should be prepared for retribution.” Hija: “...But I really want to learn about that connection.” QU37Z41C0471: “There are ways that do not put you at risk. ‘Se capturan más moscas con una gota de miel que con un cuarto de vinagre.’” Hija: “Sí, supongo, pero soy más vinagre que miel en el mejor de los casos.”
Frowning at what she had to do if she were to learn about the connection, and because her previous insults to Snitch appeared to wash over him, Hija conjured up a message and sent it towards the connections origin and, what she hoped, the its creator.
“Hola there, that is a very interesting set up you have to get around the bar’s cage. I have to admit I’m impressed and while I could have a go at your little agent and find out everything I want I understand you are incredibly busy with the folks in the room with crocodiles, apparently. Perhaps we could work something out, when you’re free that is, as fellow, ‘dancer’s on the quantum wave.’ Yes or no, let me know.”
Hija’s fumbling over the right words to send to the dancer, trying to sound competent without arrogance or asking after something without sounding pathetic was a bit of a struggle for her outside the Matrix. Once finished she looked over to Tag mid way through her quick fix on Snitch’s bike. Hija didn’t know about Tag’s mechanical skills as she didn’t seem to own a vehicle or drones. How was it possible for this woman to keep exceeding her expectations. Peering around the mechanic at work Hija added onto Tag’s advise to Snitch.
Tag: "There you go, just be sure to take it by a repair shop as soon as possible, and preferably one that won't ask why it's been hot wired." Hija: “I-if you’re gonna umm, get it looked at… Instead of a shop why don’t you just… Bring it to the safe- umm place. And maybe T-T-Tag could look at it, the bike, some more! And maybe… I could help Tag… It wouldn’t be my first time with fixing something ah-and drones and uhh bikes aren’t complete opposites.”
With Tag’s hand on her limp shoulder Hija was wheeled down the street as the group set off towards Tag’s safehouse. Oddly though they were following in the footsteps of Rhys the creep now speaking in a far more composed yet somehow more creepy manner than before. Tag: "Hija, change of plans, we're following Rhys out. I want you to keep tabs on everything that goes in or out of his comm. This guy knows more than he should." Hija: “I-I’ll see what I can d-do Tag. But umm, everything on his, uh, commlink is gonna implode in a couple of minutes. Little present he left for me that I uhh returned...”
Hija flashed her pained smile before she set to work on breaking into Rhy’s comm once again with QU37Z41C0471’s help, which was rather easy as she was just there. Once more inside and finding a nice place to hunker down Hija remained quiet and still save to wash away her crimes on Valk’s connection and Rhy’s commlink from GOD’s prying eyes while her meat body followed behind Tag.
Hija’s message asking for the connection secrets, 2 Negotiation dice: exadOqCT1-6 1-6 Hits: 0 QU37Z41C0471’s assist, 9 Hacking dice: 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 Hits: 3 Hija’s hacking into Rhy’s commlink again, 19 Hacking dice: 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 Hits: 8 Hija’s cleaner to remove her illegal Matrix action trace, 13 Tasking dice: 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 Hits: 51-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6

The Dancer replies tersely, manifesting as a medieval hangman, hood and all: "Jesus bird-brain - not now, shits about to get hot in there and I need this link clear to support my chummers in the grinder. Get off this line or I have a Mitnick 2v Data Spike with your deck's name on it."
Wrap up facts:
1) (A) Someone was hired by a Mr. Johnson to make sure Tag was safe during the run. (B) Someone else was hired by a Mr. Johnson to make sure the deal went down. (C) A Third person was hired by a Mr. Johsnon to see if Tag was able to employ subtlety on the run and to see if she had no problem with illegal activities.
I'll let ya'll decide who was A, B, or C: Rhys, Snitch, or Cochise. Post run discussion led you all to conclude that the johnsons in question were all separate people, or one person who went through a lot of trouble to hid their ID.
2) Snitch confirms with his brother that Tag and Valk went on a few runs with him back in the day.
3) After some flashbangs, Valk's team found that the crocs had been gene-engineered to have identical roars to that of the old-timey t-rexs from Jurassic Park the Movie. There was no sign of Dr Xink.
4) Tag got a message from Xink a few days later. "Technically, we is allllll square. Duke Faulk considers himself more of an artist though - and you hurt his feelings. Catch ya on the up-top." The message was traced to a now defunct burner phone, no attempts at communication are answered.
5) The Chalk was delivered to Mr. Johnson, and payment was received.
6) Write up a little bit for each of your characters helping to establish some more group cohesion. Tag is going to get a good offer from a Mr. Johnson shortly and she's going to need a team. Let's think:
Hija is Tag's stalker. Snitch has ran a few shadows with Tag. So what could happen in a couple of days to get Cochise more ingratiated with the rest of you?
Scene 2 starts tomorrow.

Once the delivery is made and she receives her pay, Tag is ready to move on to getting to know the runners who have popped up in her life. And so She composes a message to everyone Tag: "Hey people, since we're all aquatinted now, and you seem interesting, I'm inviting you all to my place for conversations and some dinner. I'll be providing everything, so you don't have to worry about preparing too much. This is simply a way for us to get to know eachother in case we work toggether in the future. Swing by my safehouse at 6 tomorrow and we'll get to know eachother. -Tag" Tag then makes her way to a grocery store, one with real food, not food substitutes. It's payday after all, might as well. Pulling from her knowledge of her mothers culinary leanings towards her Portuguese heritage, Tag selects the ingredients for a simple Posta Mirandesa.

Hija accepted the offered dinner as soon as it pipped onto her commlink and come six o'clock, on the dot, she appeared at Tag's home. Navigating the place with ease she joins everyone for the dinner and contributes to discussions as best she can, mostly complimenting Tag for the familiar yet different tasting food she had managed to whip up along with numerous other platitudes. True to her word Hija offers once again to take a look at Snitch's motorbike in place of a street mechanic. This offer soon extends to all the mechanical and electrical equipment, guns, armour, commlinks, devices, vehicles and even to cyberware though few probably took up this last part of the offer.
While the cleaning, defragging and general maintenance of the equipment that trickled through allowed Hija to snoop on her would be runners the arrangement also gave Hija a temporary residence in Tag's abode. She needed a fixed place to work and carrying all that equipment to her own hotel room was hardly a good idea. Setting up shop in Tag's garage Hija worked over the next couple of days to give everyone's equipment a tune up. Between said work, completing various requests by the team in regards to the Matrix, and sleeping on a small pile of parts, she claimed it was more comfortable than the offered foldout couch, Hija made sure to make an appearance whenever Snitch or Cochise came to the safehouse either for a social visit or to pick up their equipment.

OOC, just a little follow up with Hija real quick. Once Hija seems to have gotten comfortable, Tag approaches her when she seems unoccupied. Tag: "So, now that you've settled down, you can tell me who exactly you are and how you've heard of me. Don't think I forgot that you almost used my name when we first talked." Tag looks more serious than usual. She's not visibly armed, and no icons are showing up either.

OOC: If Snitch was hired by a Johnson to supervise the run, it was probably to simply make sure that the run was completed, as most of his attention had been on Hija.
Lounging in his apartment and sipping Soykaf an invitation appeared before his eyes. Dinner, conversation, and maybe even a history lesson from Tag. Showing up fashionably late and presenting a bottle of scotch from his personal collection. After realizing that Hija and Tag are too young to join him, he shares the bottle with Chochise through the night, trading jokes.
The conversation with Tag was interesting, albeit foreign to him. Snitch always found stories of his past to be slightly disturbing - not knowing what happens next in a story is exhilarating, less-so when you're a character of it. Snitch revealed that after an accident he had some difficulty remembering events from his past, however keeping the exact details vague and deflecting questions into the matter. The offer from Hija for maintenance was appreciated, and Snitch left the bike with her, requesting that the RFID ignition be swapped for a biometric lock, based off of the same fingerprint configuration used to open his briefcase. After a lovely night, Snitch takes a taxi home. When the bike maintenance is complete, a ping is sent for it to return to its garage spot.

Flecked with a thin layer of oil grease and the occasional smattering of blood Hija took a break from working on the team’s equipment to haunt the hallways of Tag’s home and peek in on their owner. Hija was surprised to see Tag waiting for her and appearing rather stony faced.
Hija: “Oh oh, Hel- Hiya Tag… Do you need, or uh, want anything?” Tag: "There is something, now that you've settled down, you can tell me who exactly you are and how you've heard of me. Don't think I forgot that you almost used my name when we first talked."
Taken aback by the serious tone and intimidating near glower Hija adjusted her glasses as if she was seeing something that wasn’t there. [That’s Tag being scary. It’s pretty good, especially on weirdos like Rhys but why is she acting this way to me? I haven’t done anything wrong. I’ve even tried to be nice to Snitch and Cochise. She doesn’t need to demand things either, just ask.] Processing the demand Hija replied, her usual stuttering and nervous speech becoming clearer and more akin to her true insolent tone.
Hija: “It only happened a couple of days ago and I don’t think you’re dumb enou… I didn’t think you would forget, too smart. That… slip was an uh, an accident I just sort of forgot about everyone else in the heat of the moment.” Hija rubbed her hands together vainly trying to wipe them clean on her hoodie sleeves.
Hija: “I’m Noe, I took up the name Hija like, four years ago after it was given to me. Snitch probably knows the exact date ‘cause he’s a spying creep. I heard about you when you first called out to me, maybe a month ago. I was on the Matrix and your icons yelled out to me, they were brighter than everything else and when I came close they, umm, welcomed me in. Security and firewalls are meant to keep out things that want to hurt you, but I don’t want to hurt you, ever, so they let me in and I started learning more about you.” She looked Tag up and down noticing the notable absence of any of her usual icons. Hija: “It’s kind of mean that you’ve left those icons out of this… whatever this is. After all its thanks to them that we met, we’re standing here now and I’m happy to help you and, I suppose, the others out. Helpful and nice is all I’ve been since we met...” She grumbled off, wanting to add more about her current treatment but choosing to remain quiet for the time being.

OOC:Do you mean Tag or Hija?[better not push it, I don't want Hija to bolt out the door. What did she mean my icons let her in... I'm no decker, but I've never heard of anything like that...] Tag goes to retrieve her commlink, logging into her guest pass on Jackpoint (generously provided by Valk back when they ran together, but Tag hadn't used it all that much). She briefly looks around for anyone talking about anything similar, but comes up with nothing. She decides to create a post, Tag: "Hey Jackpoint, I ran into a strange person who knew a bit more about me than they should. I believe they're some kind of Psi, able to manipulate the matrix and such. They said that my icons were "calling out" to them, or something like that. Said that they just let them in. I don't know if I buy that or not yet. Anyone know what the hell they might have been talking about?"

OOC Frak it. Snitch was working on a story on Hija. I need some more coffee, BADLY. I'll start scene two tomorrow when I am more coherent.

I had a botnet that was running on the TorTor protocol to provide screening and DDOS from a shrouded position, and the whole damn net went Dark. No warning, no diagnostic oddities, just disappeared. Your friend jack in with that new synaptic booster synth hormone? Katie8? I had some weird as persistant matrix hallicinations when I tried it. KNOW YOUR CHEMIST."

[Huh, that was pretty fast] Tag: "Well I'm no expert, but I don't think the person in question has any synaptic boosters. Though in your case, if I had to guess, if you've got a DNI, those synth hormones might have been making your brain continue to interact with it even while you weren't connected to anything, but I digress. It seems to me that this person has been busy tracking me down, so it's no hallucination. Do you know any psi's who regularly hang around?"
ooc: maybe we should fold this into scene two, or is that going to be another run entirely?

"Snitch, Tag, Hija.... quite a little group we got going. Hey Snitch, this stuff is good - not the Pappy Van Winkle of scotches, but good."
Cochise played it close to the vest, but with Snitch's scotch does let slip a few things about the oil fields around Galveston and Port Arthur, back in the bad old days. He is a little taken aback by an Alpha running the shadows, but tries not to let it play out on his face.
After some comparing notes with Tag and Snitch, it sounds like the Johnsons were at least physically different. Whether that means they didn't belong to the same organization.... another story.
