OOC: I'm just going to have you all arrive at the same time - we can backfill as necessary - not totally logical, but it let's everyone dive in right away. Lord William Furnival lives in gilded neighborhood, befitting a visit from Gatsby and his gang - if they had private helicopters. Just far enough south of birminham where it becomes possible to stars at night. Furnival's near-palace is ostentatious and trying to convey that Someone of Import Lives Here. it's a mile from the front gate (for those of you who drive in) to the front door. A glimpse around one side of the house shows a helipad and parking area with a large Tractor/Trailer rig with the Sader Krup logo on the side. It has a grand, whitewashed edifice. Elaborate stone carvings stand watch in alcoves all along the frontage. The carvings imported from India and China, with a little bit of Eastern Africa thrown in. It is highly unlikely a decorator was consulted, the collection is disjoint. A well dressed guard or very muscular butler opens the door and admits you. Inside is a man right-out of a merchant Ivory film... J:"Welcome to the Residence, my I escort you to the Den? His lordship and refreshments await you. My name is Jerome, please let me know if there is anything I can do to be of service." After a lengthy walk past libraries, media rooms, sun rooms and such, you are brought into a den an array of fruit, juices, coffee, and baked goods are available. The large portrait is indeed of Furnival himself. On the wall opposite the entrance is a large art deco desk, behind it several pictures, including one that shows an elegant outdoor party with a large banner '7th annual Promethean Socity Charity Auction'. More compelling is a sealed in hermetic plexiglass map... Furnival:"Splendid! Splendid of you to come. Do you wish a quick bite or shall we attend directly to the matter at hand?"

The country drive from his apartment out to the Manor was nice, well as nice at you can expect in the isles this time of year. After a short wait at the gate for the rest of the party to arrive, Snitch heads in with the rest of the group. The ostentatious wealth grated against his ingrained need of blending in with the crowd, but he recognized that the lord lived in a different world then he did.
After being handed his briefcase from the butler, the quick tour of the home from Jerome provided a basic overview of the layout of the building, although any serious investigation of the incident would wait until after they've met with their host. Eventually making their way to the den Snitch pours himself a coffee, black, and his instincts start to kick in - his eyes always have a habit of looking around a room to find the most valuable, fenceable thing around. There may be gold and expensive furniture within arms reach throughout the home, but the really expensive stuff is always behind a little protection. Sipping his coffee and nodding to the lord in response to if the group should get started, Snitch makes his way towards the plexiglas covered map.
Alex's private collection of (stolen) textbooks, documents and literature had given him an appreciation for the written word, and so he immediately knew what lay before him is just as much a one of a kind art piece as a map of the world. Hand drawn in excruciating detail on a large piece of vellum, the map of the world was not separated by the borders of countries, nor the spheres of influence of corp's as is most common these days. This appeared to be a map of the Earths continental shelves, with an unusual addition to the usual image. A large landmass between Madagascar and India was labelled "Lemuria" - presumably where the missing artifacts originated from.

The leather on the briefcase has been oiled and cleaned. The metal clasps polished. If searched, nothing inside is missing or appears to have been handled.

Hija let out a yawn while she slumped over the back of Snitch’s bike, waiting for the others to arrive. The night had been quite eventful with just the dinner alone, diving through nodes, cameras and her companions cyberware topped off with a quick firefight and escape. That was just the start of the evening for the teen however. Once they got to Snitch’s home they found that the armoured plates of his jacket were completely shattered and Snitch himself was sporting a very colourful bruises along his chest. Not wanting her nearest meat shield to be incapacitated Hija played doctor, though with a bedside manner more akin to an enforcer, then seamstress removing the useless kinetic plates, sliding in some spare replacements and sewing it carefully back together. Overall it did not take too long. Not feeling too tired and with her host confined to bed under doctor’s orders Hija explored the house that held the subtle smell of smoke and whiskey. The combination of scents was strongest in the study where the classic Venetian blinds were half drawn and casting long shadows thanks to the illumination of the city. It was there Hija found the object that would occupy her night. A broad metal panel with a strong iron handle and large dial fixed in the middle. Getting tired of the amount of throwbacks she had encountered that night Hija set about beating at least one of the infernal devices. She had managed to get through around a third of the possible combinations before blinds protecting her from the harsh morning sun were drawn open and a heavy hand dragged her away from her unbeaten foe.
Hija was contemplating whether she could convince one of the others to grab her some Long Haul on their way up before they too arrived on the scene. Tag tossed Hija the remainder of her equipment, she slipped her armoured hoodie over her formal wear and basked in the soft, comfy fabric before the group continued the mile drive up to the manor. The vastness of Lord Furnival’s land was indeed impressive but the lack of anything useful disappointed Hija.
[So much space, not a single farm or pen. All looks no substance. Plenty of pretty flowers and bushes though. Wonder if any of them have any ‘interesting’ properties…]
She found the carvings similarly inadequate plenty of culture from across the eastern world, likely acquired through less than legal means if Lord Furnival’s previous statements were anything to go by, but none from her homeland, historical or otherwise. Grumbling her compliance to Jerome she followed him through the house until they entered the den. The spread was welcoming, especially the thick aroma wafting from the steaming mugs. Glancing between the adults in the room Hija sidled over and took a deep swig from a piping cup of coffee before anyone could protest. She rarely drank the substance and was particularly snobby about what beans she would consume when she did. For now however she just needed the caffeine and ignored the slightly unbalanced body and nutty finish, it was high quality to be sure just not quite to her taste. Trying to emulate the aftertaste she preferred Hija grabbed a couple of bananas and began munching while looking about the room around her. Lots of old junk for people only slightly younger than them. Nothing in particular she recognised save for a single Nazca ceramic depicting crops bursting forth from a number severed heads that littered the ground. She took another swig as her eyes landed on the pictures behind the desk.
[‘Promethean Socity Charity?’ Who took the blame for that typo. What was their punishment, simple embarrassment, reprimand or something more severe?]
Hija swallowed as Lord Furnival asked his question. Forgetting her previous formality, and plan of letting Tag handle the speaking, Hija reminded their employer.
Hija: “Not to be presumptuous but weren’t you the one that was concerned with starting as soon as possible? We’re what twenty-nine, thirty hours behind your thieves now? Probably best for your sake to get ‘to the matter at hand,’”

Cochise follows the butler quietly, perhaps a little paler. He seems to be swallowing and playing with his collar, looking a little green at the gills.
"Sure your lordship..."

OOC: posted while tired, so sorry about how incoherent it is. read out of character thread for more info
Tag has had a rough day/week/month and being in the luxury cradle of a private vtol reminds her of her past life. The gentle, near silent hum is luling her into a tired, if a bit agitated, state. She found a seat away from the other passengers, the sudden lack of adrenaline has sapped her of sociability and spends most of the trip staring out a window at the evening sky. Tag: "You can see the stars tonight..." She isn't speaking to anyone in particular, the statement just came to mind. She doesn't speak, but acknowledges that she has at least heard when spoken to.
Upon landing, she is struck with nostalgia. Stepping off the plane, she takes in the manor. An Alphas natural habitat, opulent and imposing. Just like home...
A butler shows Tag to her room, something that hasn't happened in a long time. She follows along, begrudgingly, but doesn't vocalize any complaints. She is being treated like royalty despite her actual status, and Tag is not having it. Her room, might as well be a master bedroom, a queen size bed, stacked with velvety pillows, a sliding glass door that opens onto a balcony, the decor is sleek and with wood paneling, hell there's even a grand-fracking-piano. Tag grumbles, realizing that anyone else would be overjoyed to have a room like this, but to her, this is just another gillded prison. Regardless, she makes herself at home before another butler summons her to the den.
To the team, Tag is looking a bit disheveled, rubbing her eyes frequently and stretching her back and neck. She listens to what others have to say and addresses the lord. Tag: "Sure, let's *yawn* get to work."
OOC: with Tags Academic knowledge, Would she recognize the promethean society or anything in the lords collections?

The Promethean Society, whose motto is "We shall bring light to the world" is a conclave of philanthropists, philosophers, politicians, sociologists, and gene sculptors who are responsible for the existence of Alphas. Many Alphas, including Tag's mother, are active members.

Noticing Snitch's study of the map, Furnival notes: "More theologically inclined scholars have hypothesized that the Garden of Eden was on Lemuria. When Adam and Eve were cast out, the Garden was sunk beneath the waves, lost to mankind forever."
Furnival:"My feelings exactly, Jerome gets upset if I don't follow certain civilities. Jerome, please bring the food along with us, and leave it just outside the museum wing."
Furnival takes off at a fast walk that leaves Hija struggling a bit to not break into a jog. Hija feels a weird sensation walking through the house - it's host is dormant. All of the wifi devices are acting in mesh network or independent mode. This thin network that is active leaves a weird metallic taste in her mouth, which is a very odd thing to occur when she is in AR mode.
He leads you through many rooms to a large vaulted chamber set up very much so like a room at the British Museum - placards with descriptive information, anacient paper photographs of digs where the artifacts were discovered, small interactive holographic displays - none of that cheap AR stuff.
Furnival slows down and starts into tour guide mode in front of display of cornices that look as if they came from Angkor Wat "Note how well preserved the pigments are here..."
Furnival momentarily seems to forget why you are here, then raises an eyebrow and crossed the room to a hulking man with a jutting jaw wearing a central casting Secret Service uniform, with an AR display fainting glimmering in the lenses of the shades. He is likely a gene-spliced for military service Delta - almost never seen outside the military or police forces. He has a SMG slung over his shoulder, and steps smartly aside to make from for Furnival to approach a heavy metal shod door.
Furnival pulls out a keychain, and unlocks a heavy door. Above the door is a simple placard: "Lemurian Diaspora." He gestures for you to enter.
Inside the door is a purpose built museum, complete with dramatic lighting provided by skylights and some LEDspot lights. This appears to be the only door into the room.
Upon seeing the wreckage, Furnival's joviality disappears. There are several obvious signs of a break in at first glance and the empty spaces where the artefacts once stood are all too obvious.
Furnival points to two small, broken display cabinets in the museum; the glass in them has been smashed to allow access to the contents. The first bears the label: “Central Lemurian Vase; Ceramic, Copper” The second is labelled: “Central Lemurian Ring; Steel, Copper, Other Metals."
Furnival mutters:"The ring was discovered on the finger of a Roman aristocrat in a grave in Northumbria in 1867."
Shattered glass lies on the floor between and around the two cases, each of which was on a small pedestal.
Nearby is the broken remains of what appears to have been a number of urns - on a column near it the placard reads: "Malayasian Urns, Lemurian Influenced Glaze." One is still mostly intact.
There are numerous other cases and artifacts throughout the room, no other cases seem damaged. Mustache starts taking pictures.
OOC: Has anyone other than Hija looked at the files on the datastick from the previous night?

Even before entering the scene of the theft, Alex had begun growing curious about the circumstances that lead to it. At least three combat trained assistants of the lord have been met at this point, as well as Jerome and who knows how many others had been around the night of the incident. The Lemurian chamber was centrally located within the Manor, requiring going through a great deal of the building to reach - even with milspec software to wipe their trail, he thought it unlikely to have not been noticed by any of the residents. When the door was opened and the scene was open to scrutiny, it simply raised more questions. Someone would need to sneak past security to get in here and open up a physical lock which is becoming a rarer talent these days, yet the scene looks like a smash and grab with glass scattered throughout the ground.
Snitch: "Looks like they knew what they wanted, almost everything else is untouched - is there something special about what they took versus what they left?"
Curious about the only other affected item in the exhibit, Snitch walks towards the broken urns and takes a look to see if there is anything out of the ordinary.
OOC: Snitch would have been mostly driving and tending to his wounds during the trip to the manor, so he would only know what Hija had talked to him about on the ride.

Rolling her tongue about the inside of her mouth Hija tried to displace the unpleasant taste. Ruling out that it was some strange aftertaste from the coffee, as the metal flavour persisted even after she subtly wiped her tongue dry on the sleeve of her hoodie, she concluded she had either instantly contracted some form of gum disease or its was something to do with the current oddities surrounding the Matrix vibe she was getting off of this place.
Following the group as best as she could Hija glanced between the displays with mild apathy, more old junk for old people. Her interest piqued when the group arrived at the broad stone faced Delta that was even larger than Cochise. Hija studied the guard as he stepped aside for Lord Furnival and blankly stared ahead.
[Put him in some shades of green and yellow camo, a splash of red, a bigger gun and a gaggle of friends… Yes I've seen you before. Different batch and another country but I recognise your face, Its a template after all.]
Scowling Hija walked into the vault and almost immediately pointed to the ceiling skylights. She remained quiet, finger still in the air, as she inspected the various labels of the room.
Hija: “Point of entry one, if you don’t have the key at least. Who else has actually been in this room? You keep it locked away and behind a vatter, so the number people who know you have, had, these Lumerian, Lemarian? Lem-ur-ian objects can’t be too expansive.”
Not waiting for an answer Hija continued.
Hija: “Regardless it seems you lo- my colleagues will have plenty to look over here. I myself am more partial to looking into your Matrix security, you mentioned military grade electronic warfare and I’m curious as to what I can put together from the debris.”

Jerome notices an makes a brief grunt of disapproval. Hija finishes the lick while maintaing eye contact, establishing dominance.
Furnival: "My inspection shows a few other pieces were missing, but the Pandyan era sculptures and fetishes can be replaced with relative ease - the Lemurian articles can't. I suspect it was a crude 'smoke screen' to take them.
The pottery Urn debris is scattered in a much larger area than the glass case debris.
Furnival glances at the skylight. "I'm afraid that doesn't open."
F: "Herr Ausburg helped me purchase the ring, and my curator Mr. DeGual helped me obtain the bowl. I have had a couple of soirees here, and I can see if we can get backups of the guest lists. Shall I have Jerome take you to the server room?"

Chochise is drawn to a display of Polynesian war clubs. The placard says the clubs are derived from Lemurian 2nd King sacrificial implements. A lengthy description of the two part Lemurian Kingship is quoted from an archaeology text: The country is ruled by two kings, one who is physical and rules over this land (the whole world, in fact, although the rest of the world understandably disagrees on this point) and one who is spirit and rules over the spirit world. Upon the death of the living king, his secondborn son ascends to the throne of the living world. The firstborn son of the king is given a much greater honor and responsibility. Exactly one year after his father's death his arms and legs are bound, he is placed on an altar, and while he chews on hallucinogenic roots his mother, eldest sister, or other close female relatives kill him with hammer blows.
First his limbs are struck and then his chest and finally his head. Breaking the arms is symbolic of breaking the restraints which keep him tied not physically but spiritually and shattering the rib cage and the skull allows the prince's soul to more easily depart from the brain and the heart (the two places where the soul resides in life, which is why damage to one of these areas is so deadly).
The act of being sacrificed and the exact process involved allows him to travel to the spirit world and be recognized as the rightful heir to the throne there. In the spirit world the king has authority over the beings which call that place home- the great spheres that sing storms into existence, mottled-purple spinal column worms that spread disease, misshapen gremlin-like hominids that steal small unattended objects, and more. The author is listed as Klaus Von Falkenstein - You assume that it is fictitious, the level detail is far beyond what is possible to reconstruct of pre-historic times.

Tag is reminded of her fathers own collection, absentmindedly mumbling Tag:"impressive... I've heard a bit about Lemuria before, though my father was more interested in Atlantian artifacts..." She takes a couple steps into the room, careful to not step on any broken glass. Tag: "Well, crime scene investigation is not my area of expertise, so call me over if you find anything I can talk to." Tags attention is caught in a patern of reflective glass that's formed on the floor. Her immediate reaction is to look at her face being reflected, but something about it seems off... A black smudge seems to appear in the reflection. she kneels down to get a better look, brushing the glass to the side. Shoe polish... Expensive. She tries to identify it ins some way perception iSTVNFxH1-61-61-61-61-61-61-61-61-6
It's a strange intuition, but she's familiar with this. It's what the security team at her families estate used it, Lincoln stain wax, common among military, or proffesionals. Not a big lead, but it's something.
Mentally filing that information away, Tag speaks up again. Tag: "Care putting me in contact with Herr Ausburg and Mr DeGual?"1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6
